The comptoir
A neighbourhood comptoir, shaped by the soul of France and the energy of Melbourne.
Petit Crenn is Chef Dominique Crenn's first room in Australia. Everyday French bistro cooking, coffee in petit cups, wine by the glass and cocktails made with care. Order at the bar, settle where you like, and stay as long as you like.
Everything is petit: the plates, the cutlery, the gestures, the moments. Never the ambition.

Matin, midi
By day.
Coffee first. Pastries in tiers on the counter, tartines and salads from the carte, and a table in the window if you're quick. Stop by. Stay a while.
The day menu
Soir
By night.
Apéritif hour. The lights come down, the glasses come out. Small plates arrive when they are ready, the wine list leans to France and the cocktails are classics with a Breton accent. Stay for one. Stay longer.
The night menu

Tuesday to Saturday
Du Jour.
One plate for each day of the week, on the board from four. The reason to come back on a Wednesday.
495 Collins Street
Inside the Rialto.
A long bar painted French blue. Marble tables and bentwood chairs along the windows, and a shelf at the glass for those who'd rather stand. Pressed metal overhead, timber underfoot, a blackboard written by hand each morning, and the tram passing outside.
A room that feels collected over time rather than newly made.
